A syrmak is much more than a rug: it is a piece of nomadic tradition, handmade and designed to stand the test of time.
Made of natural felted wool, it is born from a fascinating artisanal technique. Two layers of felt in contrasting colors are placed on top of one another and cut simultaneously following the artisan’s design. The shapes are then swapped and reassembled: the light enters the dark and the dark enters the light.
From a single gesture, two mirrored syrmaks are born, like mirror twins. They share the same design and origin, yet each retains its own identity. They can be chosen together, as a complementary pair, or separately as unique decorative pieces.
Every detail tells the story of manual labor: the stitching follows the curves of the ornamental motifs, creating depth and movement, while the cord along the edges highlights the contrast between the shapes.
Traditionally used inside yurts, syrmaks provided warmth and comfort during nomadic life. Today, that same tradition enters contemporary spaces through an object that is tactile, authentic, and rich in history.
Crafted to last, every syrmak features the natural variations of artisanal work, making each piece truly unique.
